Greg diPiazza Performing Live on Maui
Maui Underground is a concept band with Greg diPiazza at the helm. Using samples and live musicians, Greg creates styles of music ranging from middle eastern to blues, Latin to jazz, and hip hop to funk. His latest release "MAUI UNDERGROUND 2" features Paul Bunuan on Sax, Mark Johnston on Organ, Piano, and Indio drums, "Tato" Eduardo Melgar (from Uruguay) on congas, Dion Estas (original member of Wam) on bass, while Greg plays electric & acoustic guitars, harmonica, piano, & strings, as well as records, produces, and DJ's all the samples used on the CD.
Greg diPiazza tours regularly throughout the year, mostly in California and Hawaii.
When on Maui, Greg can be seen Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at Cheeseburgers in Paradise, and Wednesdays at the Pioneer Inn in Lahaina from 5 to 8pm. Catch him Saturdays and Sundays from 5 to 8pm on the Lahaina Princess cruise.
Greg often plays with Cassandra Denver (John Denver's wife) in Los Angeles, as 'Cassandra Denver and the Maui Underground Orchestra.' He also does studio work with Steve Ferrone.
